  1. - 8 ripe apricots

  2. - 1 cup of breadcrumbs

  6. - 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  7. - 2 eggs

  8. - 2 cups of flour

  9. - 1/2 cup of milk

  10. - Powdered sugar, for dusting



Instructions:

1. Start by preparing the apricots. Cut them in half and remove the pits. Place a small amount of sugar in the center of each apricot half.


2. In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and salt to create the filling for the dumplings.



3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then gradually incorporate the flour and milk to create the dumpling dough. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.


4. Take a small amount of dough and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Place an apricot half in the center and encase it in the dough, forming a smooth ball.



5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and gently drop the dumplings in. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the surface.


6. Remove the dumplings from the water and drain them on a paper towel.



7. Serve the Marillenknoedel warm, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
