Texas chili is a traditional dish that originated in the state of Texas. It is known for its rich, spicy flavor and hearty ingredients, including beef, chili peppers, and various spices. Texas chili is typically thick and meaty, with a bold and robust taste. It is often served with toppings such as cheese, onions, and sour cream. Texas chili is a popular dish in the Lone Star State and is enjoyed by many for its delicious and satisfying taste.

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) of diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is softened, about 3-4 minutes.
3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
4. Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. If the chili is too thin, simmer uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes to thicken.
6. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, or cilantro.
