Bo Luc Lac, also known as shaking beef, is a popular Vietnamese dish that features tender cubes of marinated beef served with a flavorful dipping sauce and a side of fresh vegetables. This dish is typically served as a main course and is perfect for special occasions or family gatherings.

Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tomato, cut into wedges
- Fresh lettuce leaves
- Fresh cilantro leaves
- Lime wedges
Dipping sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the beef cubes and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
2. Mix the ingredients for the dipping sauce (soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and black pepper) in a small bowl. Set aside.
3. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the vegetable oil and heat until shimmering.
4. Add the marinated beef cubes in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes without moving it, allowing it to sear and develop a nice crust.
5. Flip the beef cubes and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
6. In the same pan, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they start to soften.
7. Add the tomato wedges and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
8. Return the cooked beef to the pan and toss everything together for another minute to heat through.
9. Serve the Bo Luc Lac hot, garnished with fresh lettuce leaves, cilantro leaves, and lime wedges. Serve the dipping sauce on the side.
Bo Luc Lac is best enjoyed with steamed rice or vermicelli noodles. This dish is bursting with flavor and is sure to impress your guests. Enjoy!
